My client is a market-leading manufacturer and supplier of environmental protection and safety products for fluid transfer operations within the Oil and Gas industry. You will play a pivotal role in the success and ongoing expansion of this highly regarded company by supporting the production of drawings and technical engineering expertise on the company’s products as well as carrying out project management tasks, progress reports, and liaising with customers.
PRINCIPAL JOB PURPOSE
Provide 3D design and drafting support to the Engineering team, and aid in day-to-day operations, such as basic calculations, drawing approvals, Engineering Change Note revisions, customer interactions, and workshop assistance.
KEY TASKS
- To carry out drafting requirements, for both production drawing and general arrangement and assemblies for internal and customer facing requirements
- Work within the company’s PDM Vault and Solidworks systems
- Maintain product BOM’s
- Assist in the development of manuals and literature for company products
- Produce renders and marketing collateral for sales support
- Be the engineering focal point for external NCR’s, including a customer contact point
- Perform data entry to company’s ERP system
- Work within Engineering Change Notes (ECN) process
- Be main point of contact for manufacturing and production problem-solving within the Engineering team
- Support ongoing NPD/R+D process within the company with CAE
- Develop and maintain internal team standards and specifications
- Maintain and produce ongoing standards and specifications
- Manage own workload to meet deadlines.
- To undertake any reasonable task required of the individual, given sufficient training and instruction.
The role will require both individual and team working, with good communication skills vital across this rapidly developing company. They will be self-motivated as well as an effective team worker, with a proven track record of working in Solidworks and producing manufacturing drawings and GA’s.
You will be enthusiastic, ideally with manufacturing experience and experience of ECN and ERP systems and processes. Confident in talking to a range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the company, have an open mind to teams’ suggestions and industry direction, and the ability to assist others and provide support.
