Product Marketing Manager – Sports, Music & Events

Our client is a world leader in the Event Badges, ID Cards, Access Wristbands and accreditation software sector and has been servicing high profile international sporting events, music festivals, conferences, colleges, and large security establishments for over 30 years.

These are exciting times for them and we are searching for Product Marketing Manager to join their team and work across two of its businesses.

PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE

Based in Tunbridge Wells (and from home) and working as part of the marketing team, the role manages the full marketing mix for key categories in the UK, including developing & executing the Marketing Plan. With a strong marketing and commercial background, this individual will drive the development and growth of their product categories via creation of winning marketing strategies.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Strategy: Develop and execute a marketing strategy plan with a full mix of short-term and longer term initiatives to drive sales targets – defining key markets, target audience, objectives, distribution channels etc.
  • Market Analysis: Assess market and consumer segments; ability to analyse consumer, product and market data and develop recommendations for action
  • PLC: Complete Product Lifecycle Management of the existing product ranges, including monthly analysis, SKU rationalisation (working with Supply Chain to manage any risk caused by deletions / exits)
  • NPD: Responsible for all stages of NPD process – recommending scope of future product lines to preparing return-on-investment analyses and launching new concepts. Support sales team with new / existing customers to ensure successful launch of NPD & listing of existing products
  • Self-development: Maintains professional and technical knowledge – look for and attend workshops, review professional publications, study
  • Route-to-market: Create & drive distribution listings plan & category management opportunities in appropriate routes to market (in collaboration with sales team)
  • Promotion: Contribute to the content of the consumer e-newsletter and social media strategy ensuring the content is consistent with the overarching marketing strategy

CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE

  • > 2 years’ experience in product/brand management in an established Consumer/ B2B Marketing function
  • Commercial awareness, innovative problem solver and creatively-driven
  • Analytical/financial acumen – able to understand and interpret data
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and evidence of working in cross-functional teams
  • Self-motivated with a positive “can-do” attitude – personal drive, tenacity and energy
  • Prioritises – able to focus on key areas and on multiple projects at a time; evidence of project management abilities and experience.
  • Goal focused and action orientated

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE

  • Degree level qualification in Business or Marketing
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in print and or paper industry would be an advantage
  • Experience in an ecommerce business &/or digital marketing

Location: Tunbridge Wells, Kent + home working
