Role: Production Team Leader – Events, Sports & Music

Our client is a world leader in the Event Badges, ID Cards, Access Wristbands and accreditation software sector and has been servicing high profile international sporting events, conferences, colleges, and large security establishments for over 30 years.
These are exciting times for them and we are searching for a Production Team Leader to lead their team and work across two of its businesses.

Their ambition is to continually grow its manufacturing capabilities and therefore its Production Team requires both dynamic and structured leadership in an ever evolving and complex world.
The team are busy serving two brands – both brands specialise in prestigious and varied events – ranging from festivals to those in the Public Sector.
They manufacture in excess of 40% of turnover in house and therefore, strong, agile and high-quality, high-integrity leadership is key to their success – as is having processes that ensure accuracy, timely delivery and success, for the team and customers.
Serving predominantly the events industry and timing is everything. A cool, calm and organised approach when under pressure and tight time constraints is essential, along with a positive attitude and sense of humour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all the activities of day-to-day production
- Liaise with different departments
- Developing & communicating production plans and schedules
- Monitoring team performance
- Managing service and maintenance schedules – minimising and managing downtime
- Team compliance with policies, procedures and work instructions
- Reporting production KPIs (including hour by hour reports) to the Supply Chain Manager
- Providing analysis and recommendations (action plans) where targets have not been met
- Ensuring workload is evenly balanced across the team and recommend/action changes if needed
- Achieve optimum staffing levels (volume / skills)
- Managing attendance and control absence
- Training new joiners to a high standard, bringing them into the team and monitoring performance during the training and probation period
- Keeping training documents up to date
- Holding effective 1-2-1’s with direct reports
- Supporting team performance by undertaking activity as required covering other team roles during absence or during peaks in demand
- Act as escalation contact and trouble shooter in case of operational problems
- Initiate, lead and support small improvement initiatives within production, using relevant CI methodologies
- Any other tasks that arise as necessary in support of the company’s aims and needs
| Experience/ Core Skills
· Experience in operations / manufacturing, including in supervisory function · Good understanding of the operational processes & CI tools and techniques · Due to extreme seasonality of our business, flexibility and additional hours would be required at times · Reporting & analytical skills · Patient and flexible, organized and very positive attitude · Strong customer focus and team focus · Eager to improve processes with the team support · While not customer-facing, this key role directly impacts on a customer’s experience · Passionate and thoughtful leadership style – balancing people and motivation with productivity and results
