Workshop Technician – Agricultural Machinery (Engineers, Mechanics, Technicians)
A long‑established UK manufacturer of self‑propelled crop sprayers is looking for an experienced Workshop Technician to join its engineering team. This is a strong fit for agricultural engineers, plant/vehicle mechanics or workshop technicians who enjoy hands‑on technical work, problem‑solving and developing expertise with specialist machinery.
What You’ll Do
- Service, repair and prepare self‑propelled agricultural sprayers in a modern workshop environment
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults, including CAN‑BUS systems (training available)
- Carry out upgrades, component replacements and system calibrations
- Support customers over the phone by talking them through technical issues
- Work across hydraulics, electrics, diesel engines and hydrostatic drive systems
- Contribute to general workshop duties and support field engineers when required
What You’ll Bring
- Background in agricultural engineering, plant/vehicle mechanics or workshop-based machinery repair
- Strong understanding of hydraulics and electrics; CAN‑BUS experience is ideal but not essential
- Basic knowledge of diesel engines and hydrostatic drive systems
- Experience with agricultural machinery, sprayers or GPS systems is desirable, but full training is provided
- Ability to work independently, follow direction and maintain safe working practices
- Confident communicator, able to support customers remotely when needed
- Welding and fabrication experience is an advantage
- Strong diagnostic ability, attention to detail and a practical, hands‑on approach
