Our client is a leading force within the FMCG sector and as part of their growth plan they are now looking to bring in a Head of Operations to lead their production team.

 

You will need previous manufacturing or production experience at a leadership level and be looking for your next challenge. You will be responsible for optimum performance, quality and service levels of the team. In addition you will manage the day to day workload, drive team to achieve KPI’s and maintain quality levels.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be a proactive and positive force within the organisation, leading by example and setting and maintaining high standards at all time
  • Provision of high-quality leadership, developing personally and those within the team
  • Promotes a culture and team of positivity, can do attitudes, energy and safety
  • Implements Continuous Improvement projects utilising the most appropriate tools (LEAN, 6Sigma, Agile etc)
  • Delivery and implementation of efficient and complete planning and implementing work plans in order to meet demand
  • Proactively implements, develops and improves team KPIs
  • Identifies good performance and provides recognition and feedback, but identifies poor/incorrect practice in their team and address it quickly
  • Investigates performance/conduct issues and provides remedial action and development plans where appropriate
  • Delivers accurate, meaningful and regular team briefings
  • Complete people management – recruitment, induction, training, development, absence management, disciplinaries where required etc
  • Challenge and collaborate with team, peers and managers to resolve problems
  • Effective management of all resources – people, raw materials, consumables, inventory etc.
  • Demonstrates flexibility to amend working pattern to meet business needs
  • Ensures team are aware and follow relevant processes, attends and constructively participates in meetings
  • Ensures that all team members are aware of safe working practices and addresses incidents of non-compliance, helping to drive a safety culture
  • Knows and regularly shares performance goals with their teams, actively supports the implementation of new working practices with their team
  • Actively monitors quality & performance targets during their working day and adjusts working practices to meet goals
  • Consistently achieves a high level of productivity and quality
