Job Overview: As a Production Support Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in providing 3D design and drafting support to the Engineering team. Additionally, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations, including ERP and PDM management and administration. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing global engineering group during these exciting times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain product BOM’s.
- Perform data entry to the company’s ERP system.
- Work within the company’s PDM Vault and Solidworks systems.
- Act as the main contact and lead for engineering support within the company’s ERP system.
- Provide 3D design and drafting support to the Engineering team.
- Assist in day-to-day operations, including basic calculations, drawing approvals, Engineering Change Note revisions, customer interactions, and workshop assistance.
- Lead the development and implementation of new configurator processes.
- Assist in the development of manuals and literature for company products.
- Produce renders and marketing collateral for sales support.
- Support ongoing NPD/R+D processes with CAE.
- Develop and maintain internal team standards and specifications.
- Lead the implementation and operation of new company configuration processes/systems.
- Manage own workload to meet deadlines.
- Undertake any reasonable task required, given sufficient training and instruction.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in CAD skills, particularly Solidworks.
- Experience working to standards for engineering drawing and design (e.g., BS 8888).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production engineering.
- Good analytical and project management skills.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work on several parallel tasks.
- Excellent communication skills at all organisational levels and with external stakeholders.
- Ability to troubleshoot engineering/technical product problems and make improvements in collaboration with shop floor production staff.
- High attention to detail.
Desirable Skills:
- Oil & Gas industry knowledge.
- Basic FEA and CFD knowledge.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- DriveWorks experience.
