Salary: £44,000.00 – £47,000.00 basic DOE + benefits + BUPA

 

Our client is a leading innovator in the automated machinery sector and is actively searching for a dynamic and proactive Service Operations Controller. This pivotal role has been recently created to oversee both planned maintenance and emergency services, playing a critical part in guaranteeing the smooth and efficient operation of their service function.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Service Scheduling: Efficiently coordinate and schedule planned maintenance and emergency service calls, maintaining close communication with remote service engineers.
  2. Installation Management: Oversee machine installations and movements, ensuring clear communication with customers and engineers for a smooth process.
  3. Customer Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for customer service inquiries, addressing issues related to machine maintenance and emergency services promptly.
  4. System Oversight: Develop and maintain a detailed scheduling system to manage service appointments and optimize engineer deployment.
  5. Record Maintenance: Manage the job tracking system, keeping detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and customer interactions.
  6. Optimization: Analyze service schedules and engineer availability, optimizing response times and resource allocation based on geographical locations.
  7. Technical Collaboration: Collaborate with the technical team to understand maintenance requirements, ensuring effective service solutions.
  8. Parts Process Enhancement: Support and improve the parts identification process for better efficiency and supervise our parts administrator.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance service coordination processes, aiming for increased efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  10. Reporting: Regularly report to management on service activities, challenges, and achievements.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ideally a Degree in Business Administration or a relevant field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in service coordination, preferably within a Manufacturing or Facilities setting.
  • Strong autonomous decision-making skills and a knack for driving process improvements.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software, Microsoft Office Suite, and a quick learner of new systems.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, multi-priority environment.

 

  • Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in a service-driven environment such as facilities or manufacturing.
  • Experience in managing remote teams and coordinating logistical aspects of service delivery.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the capacity to think critically under pressure.

 

This role is primarily office-based but may require occasional visits to manufacturing sites or customer premises to support the delivery of machine installations and projects.
